Fats & Oils

Cargill started palm oil and specialty fats operation in Malaysia by acquiring Port Klang refinery facility in 1991. Since then we have expanded and upgraded our plants to state-of-the-art facilities to focus on customer needs and requirements. Today, we operate and manage 3 vegetable oil refineries in Malaysia, located in Port Klang, Kuantan and West Port.

We produce various specialty oils and fats to cater different food applications i.e. confectionery, bakery, dairy, infant nutrition, frying and more. In addition, our newly built West Port refinery has enhanced our capabilities to refine various soft oils namely soy bean, sunflower, corn and canola oil. Our products are delivered to customers in more than 65 countries around the world. Consistent quality and reliable supply chain have made us well-known and trusted throughout the world.

Our facilities are fully HACCP, GMP B2, ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, ISO 22000:2005, FSSC 22000, Kosher and Halal certified to meet the stringent needs of consumers and customers world-wide.

We are also committed to promote the growth and use of sustainable palm oil throughout the supply chain. Our facilities in Malaysia are RSPO supply chain certified for the segregation and mass balance supply chain model.

Confectionery

At Cargill, we know there are many factors - taste, mouthfeel, appearance and stability that shape the sensory experience of confectionery. We also understand that different applications require different formulas. That's why we have created an innovative assortment of specialty fats formulated to meet every confectionery need, from moldings, coatings, dips and toppings to fillings and spreads.

Our specialty filling fats offer a range of melting profiles to accommodate a variety of applications, processing and product supply chain handling requirements and sensory experiences.

We also offer many low trans fatty acids and non-hydrogenated solutions to meet the clean labelling requirements.

Frying Solutions

Choosing the right frying oils can help reduce costs by lowering oil turnover and thereby ensuring smoother daily operations.

In addition, the right frying oil can help you achieve your desired nutritional value and improve organoleptic properties, including aroma, flavor and texture as well as extending shelf life for the finished products.

All Cargill frying oils are made of fine quality oil and/or its fractions. Different melting profiles, packaging types and the addition of antifoaming and/or antioxidant agents are available to fit different operations and consumer needs.

Bakery

A variety of oils and fats are used in bakery applications i.e dough fats, filling and topping fats, coating fats, spray oils and frying medium. Bakery fats occupy minimal to a significant portions of the products. For example, bread uses about 10%, cake 20% and pastry 40% of total quantities of ingredients. Hence, it has significant influence on process handling, end product eating quality i.e. texture, volume appearance, nutrition profile and shelf life.

Our bakery fats are incorporated in the formulation of major brands around the world and have a proven track record of excellent performance with regards to mouth feel, texture, flavor, color, process ability and shelf life as well as ease of handling.

We have the ability to tailor-make products to meet different customer product positioning and legislation requirements.

Dairy

Dairy Fat Replacers are derived from selected vegetable oils and are used in the manufacturing of superior vegetable dairy formulas for cheese making, pastries, whipping creams, toppings and filled milk drinks of many kinds. They are used in place of dairy fats to give improved shelf life, good eating quality and superior performance in icing and whipped topping.

Dairy Fat Replacers produce finished products of comparable quality to Dairy Fat at a favorable cost and is cholesterol free and Genetic Modified Organism (GMO) free. Furthermore, there is no seasonal variation in supply.

Infant Nutrition

Oils and fats play an important function as energy source in infant formula. Thus choosing the right fat blend is crucial to support healthy growth of babies at different development stages.

In Cargill, we have advanced loadcells blending facilities for accurate oils and fats blending. Origins of the oils are carefully selected and processed so various sensitive contaminants can be strictly controlled and monitored. For stringent hygiene and food safety control purposes, all products are packed in enclosed environment.

With our global expertise in Europe, US, Brazil, Australia, China and Malaysia - we aim to support our customers in delivering safe, reliable products to the market whilst meeting local legislations.

We also offers high purity grade vegetable hard for eco-friendly candle making or as the feedstock for food grade emulsifiers.
