Grain & Oilseeds Supply Chain In Malaysia

Cargill recognizes the importance of an efficient supply chain and distribution system in order to deliver our raw materials at a competitive price and in a timely manner to our customers. We were the first to achieve a 20,000 metric tons daily discharge rate at Westport and this was recognized as a world-class standard. The benefit of this fast discharge resulted in lower delivered cost per metric ton for our customers.

In Malaysia, the Grain and Oilseeds distribution business services the animal feed milling and livestock sector out of two distribution facilities, which are located at Port Klang (Westport) and Butterworth, Penang.

The key products are corn and soybean meal, which are originated through Cargill's global origination system and crushing plants. The Grain and Oilseeds business also markets corn gluten meal and canola meal. We command approximately 30-35% of the market share in the industry.

The Grain and Oilseeds team is committed to collaborating with our customers in order to help them succeed in their business. The Grain and Oilseeds business team firmly believes in jointly discovering value and mutually sharing its benefits.

For example, we mutually assess the commodity market risks with customers; and propose to them our tailor-made risk management tools. Another example of collaboration with our stakeholders is the marketing of our Renessen Maveratm High Value Corn to the feed milling and livestock industry. Renessen is Cargill's joint venture biotechnology business. Renessen uses biotechnology and breeding to produce corn and soybeans with higher levels of nutrients that are important to feeding animals such as oil, lysine, tryptophan and protein. The Maveratm program links growers with livestock producers and grains bringing together the latest in technology, analytics, nutritional science and traceability.
