Cargill has helped connect farmers to markets, deliver innovative food ingredient solutions, and support customers across Malaysia, Asia Pacific and global markets since 1978. We employ more than 500 people and are supported by strong supply chains and sustainable sourcing.

 

Activities

Cargill’s Food business in Malaysia serves manufacturers, foodservice customers and retailers with a broad range of ingredients and solutions. Our expertise in processing agricultural commodities, combined with food innovation capabilities across the region, helps customers create high-quality products suited to local tastes and cultures.

 

• Edible Oils Processing – We operate two vegetable oil refineries in Malaysia. Our Port Klang facility operates advanced palm oil processing, while Westport refines soft oils such as soybean, sunflower, corn and canola.
• Specialty Oils and Fats – We offer cocoa butter equivalents, cocoa butter replacers and other specialty fats for food applications including chocolate confectionery, bakery, dairy, frying and fillings.
• Lipid R&D Center – Located at the Port Klang plant, the center works with customers on product and process development, supported by analytical capabilities, performance evaluation and optimization.
• Agriculture & Trading – We connect producers and users of crops through origination, trading, processing and distribution, with supply chain coordination and risk management solutions.
• Food Ingredients – We offer ingredients and solutions for food and beverage applications, including cocoa, chocolate, starches and derivatives, sweeteners, and texturizers. Our regional manufacturing network and food application expertise support customer solutions for products and markets across Asia Pacific and beyond.

2024: Halal white label award to Port Klang and West Port sites from The Department of Islamic Development Malaysia. 

2024: MSOSH Gold Class 1 award to Port Klang & Westport sites from the Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health.
